  1. Schedule a home or office visit by a PC Medic by calling our 800-741-4322 number

  2. A PC Medic will spend one hour diagnosing the problem and may even be able to fix it within that hour.
    If we fix the problem you will be charged $99 for the entire visit (money back guarantee applies if the problem turns out not be fixed in the next 7 days)

  3. If the PC Medic was NOT able to fix the problem within the hour, he will explain at the end of the hour what he has found as far as diagnosis, and will recommend one or more courses of action below. Because we did not fix the problem, you will only be charged $99 purely for the diagnosis. If you take one of our courses of action, we will apply the $99 diagnostic fee to the cost of repair.

  • If the problem is not repairable or would cost more than the PC is worth:
    The PC Medic will make a best effort to try to get you a quote for a comparable replacement machine and the cheapest possible price (we scour eBay and many other sites for best prices)

  • If we could not diagnose the problem in the one hour time allotted:
    The PC Medic may be able to offer you free pickup service where he will take your PC with him and return it after full diagnosis at our Lafayette shop. You will not be charged any more than the $99 diagnostic fee, no matter how long it takes us to diagnose the problem.

  • If we were able to diagnose the problem, but the fix would require longer or requires replacement additional parts or additional software:
    The PC Medic will give you a quote for the work to be done as well as the parts to be replaced, or the software to be installed

  1. You get to decide what to do at every step  and you will always have the option to decide before spending any money. The bottom line, our PC Medics can diagnose and/or fix most problems within a one hour visit for $100. For more complicateed issues, we never charge more than $60 for the diagnosis and our recommendations

THE PC COMES TO US        $59 for diagnostics
(you drop off your PC or laptop before 9AM and you can usually pick up your PC by 5PM on weekdays)

  1. Schedule a PC pickup appointment by calling our 800 number. Please inform us what the issue is and what you would like to have done.

  2. Drop off your PC or laptop at the scheduled time
    (for desktops we only need the PC itself, for laptops we need the laptop and the power supply).

  3. You will be called by a PC Medic when the problem has been diagnosed and he/she will provide you a quote for the repair work. The diagnostic fee will be $59 if you choose not to repair, or it will be applied as a credit towards the cost of repaIr .

  • If the problem is not repairable or would cost more than the PC is worth:
    The PC Medic will make a best effort to try to get you a quote for a comparable replacement machine and the cheapest possible price (we scour eBay and many other sites for best prices)

  • If we could not diagnose the problem in the one hour time allotted:
    The PC Medic may be able to offer you pickup service where he will take your PC with him and return it after diagnosis. You will not be charged any more than the $59 diagnostic fee.

  • If we were able to diagnose the problem, but the fix would require longer or requires replacement additional parts or additional software:
    The PC Medic will give you a quote for the work to be done as well as the parts to be replaced, or the software to be installed

  1. You decide what to do at every step  and you will always have the option to decide before spending any more  money.
    The bottom line, we never charge more than $59 for the diagnosis AND our best recommendation(s) to get your problem fixed at the cheapest cost.

WINDOWS PC TUNE-UP        $119 fixed fee
(
PICK-UP/DROP OFF SERVICE EXTRA)

A Windows PC tune-up can solve performance degradation that may be causing your PC to run less than optimal. A PC tune-up includes:

  • a virus scan,

  • hard disk defragmentation

  • extraneous file removal & software removal

  • boot-up speed analysis and improvements

  • Windows performance analysis and improvements

  • diagnostic report with recommendations based on analysis

Many people falsely believe they need to replace/upgrade their computer when in fact only a tune up would have done the trick. Aside from cheaper cost, a tune up also saves time and money over a new computer purchase by not  requiring re-installation of your old software, nor the  transfer of all your data files to a new machine.   1. Schedule a PC pickup appointment by calling our 800 number. Please inform us that you would like a Windows PC Tune-up.

  2.  A courier service will come by to pick up the PC (this may not be a PC Medic but a local courier instead)

WINDOWS RE-INSTALLATION        $179 fixed fee
(
PICK-UP/DROP OFF SERVICE EXTRA)

A Windows software re-installation will return your PC to factory-fresh state. Often, the addition and/or removal of software can cause Windows to slow down considerably. A Windows re-installation can return a PC to its original performance.

Note re-installing Windows will wipe out any existing data on your primary hard disk. This has two possibly undesirable side effects:
 (1) you will need to backup any data files not previously backed up
(2) you will have to re-install all other software you had installed after buying the computer.

We can perform both of these additional services at an additional cost depending on the amount of data to be backed up, and the type and number of software packages to be re-installed.

  1. Schedule a PC pickup appointment by calling our 800 number. Please inform us you would like a WIndows Re-installation.

  2. You will need to provide us the original CDs (sometimes called the Recovery CDs by the manufacturer) that came with your PC and that are to be used for the Windows re-installation. We will also need your original Windows activation key (if required for re-installation). If you are missing either the Windows CD or the activation key, we can research for you what the cheapest way is to get these.

If a problem arises that prevents Windows re-installation (such as a bad hard disk, for example) we will not charge you anything other than a $60 diagnostic fee (if we can diagnose the problem and provide you with a repair estimate).

  • If the problem is not repairable or would cost more than the PC is worth:
    The PC Medic will a best effort to try to get you a quote for a comparable replacement machine and the cheapest possible price (we scour eBay and other vendor sites)

  • If we could not diagnose the problem:
    You will not be charged anything and your PC will be returned free of charge.

  • If we were able to diagnose the problem, but the fix would require extra time or additional parts or software:
    The PC Medic will give you a quote for the work to be done as well as the parts to be replaced.

PHONE SUPPORT        $49 for 30 mins
(PHONE CALL CONSULTATION)

  1. Call us for any questions or issues you have at 1-800-741-4322. Phone support is measured by the minute with a 30 minute minimum. However you can spread those minutes over multiple phone calls.

  2. When you call we will ask for your credit card information and ask your permission to charge $50 for the first 30 minutes of phone support. If you still have a credit (paid on a previous call with left-over minutes), we will let you know your credit minutes.

  3. The PC Medic on the call will answer any questions you have to the best of his ability, make recommendations on what next to check, or how to save money. Our technicians have online access and will check for answers on technical websites as well as find deals for replacement parts on eBay or in your local area. We stay up-to-date on any weekly sales going on at major office supply stores and can advice you with the best price for hardware and software, as well as the cheapest/best approach to fix a problem. In many cases, we can help you fix the problem during the call.

  4. If you are done before the end of the remaining minutes, we will give you credit for the unusued minutes on your next call.

  5. If you run out of minutes during the call, the PC Medic will ask your permission to charge another $50 for another 30 minutes before proceeding with the call. It is always your choice on how much you are willing to spend on each call.

Note: To ensure the best qualifty service, we ask that you NOT call from a cell phone in your car or other noisy areas or from an area with poor cell reception.

REMOTE SUPPORT   $74 for 1 hr  
(PHONE CALL WITH HIGHSPEED INTERNET CONNECTION)

This option is recommended only if:

  • You are fairly savvy with Windows XP and

  • Your PC is connected to the Internet using high-speed connection (Comcast broad or DSL) and

  • Your PC is healthy enough to talk to the Internet and

  • You are running Windows XP or Windows Vista with Microsoft Windows Remote Assistance installed.
    (This is the default on most Windows installations) and

  • You can disable your Windows firewall and business firewall, if any.

How it works:

  1. Call us to schedule the remote support session.

  2. When you call we will ask for your credit card information and ask your permission to charge $75 for the first hour of remote support.

  3. A PC medic will assist you in making the connection between your PC and our PC Medic's PC.

  4. During the entire remote support session the PC Mewdic will be able to see your desktop screen, the same as you see it at home or office. With your permission, the PC Medic will also be able to run diagnostic by remotely typing and moving the mouse on your PCs desktop (you will be able to monitor all this, of course).

  5. The PC Medic will be talking to you over the phone asking you questions as well as explaining what he/she is doing to diagnose and/or fix your PC problem.

  6. At the end of each hour during the session, the PC Medic will ask your permission to charge another $75 for another hour before proceeding with the session. It is always your choice on how much you are willing to spend on each call.

However, our remote support service is billed in whole hour increments without credits for unused portions.

If it's a hardware problem, we usually recommend one of the local repair shops.

If it's a software problem we can usually give you an estimate on how much time it would take to repair, depending on the problem. If there are several options, we will present you with the alternatives, as well as costs and advantages or disadvantages of each. 

We also explain at a level you can understand, what is going on with your PC. In many cases, the problem is actually caused by something you or a member of your household or business is doing. I will also tell you how to prevent or fix the problem yourself in the future, if possible.

We consider educating PC users a very crucial part of avoiding future problems. In many cases, PC users have had no training and are unaware of the consequences of their actions. The reality is that most people just don't have the time to learn all the fine details of computer usage. In a very short time (30 to 60 minutes) PC Medics will teach you the basics of what you need to know, in terms you can understand.
